steuerscan is an AI-powered web service from Hamburg for private individuals in Germany. Users upload an invoice or receipt as a PDF or a smartphone photo and receive an assessment within seconds of whether the expense is tax-deductible. The analysis follows German tax law and returns the matching category - such as work-related expenses, household services under section 35a EStG or special expenses - together with a plain-language explanation and notes for the tax return. A REST API allows the check to be built into existing automation workflows. All processing is GDPR-compliant on EU servers in Frankfurt; documents are not stored and are never used to train AI models. steuerscan does not replace tax advice.
