ITB Innovative Tech Bamboo – System Construction through Bioengineering Supported by the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and in cooperation with the TUHH, ITB is preparing patent applications and component certification. The startup utilizes bioengineering to establish plant fibers as a high-performance base product for construction. The system uses high-density bamboo fibers—a DIBt-approved product exceeding the hardness of concrete by 100%. ITB achieves 6x the CO2 storage of timber, with cost savings of approx. 10% vs. concrete and 40% vs. timber. The concept is 100% deconstructable. The modular "Zero-Crane" principle enables construction without heavy machinery, saving approx. 60% in time. Designs for the entire building envelope, including ceilings and roofing, are available.
