The EIT (European Institute of Innovation and Technology) is an independent body of the European Union. One of its programmes is called EIT Health Catapult and supports the best European startups in the fields of health and life sciences. Among the 30 companies that have qualified for the semifinals is TimeTeller from Hamburg.

EIT Health Catapult celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2026
This year marks the tenth edition of EIT Health Catapult; the programme has already supported more than 300 startups. To be eligible, companies must be registered and operating in an EU Member State or in a country associated with Horizon Europe, the European Union’s framework programme for research and innovation. They must have fewer than 50 employees, have raised at least 500,000 euros in private investment or generated a turnover of at least 500,000 euros in the previous year, and be seeking funding of at least 2 million euros. Throughout the programme, participants receive intensive coaching and mentoring, as well as access to EIT Health’s extensive network, which includes industry leaders, healthcare providers and investors.
Following months of preparation, all semi-finalists will take part in a pitch in October, during which a panel of experts will select the nine finalists. These finalists will then have the opportunity to present their innovations to an international audience of investors and healthcare professionals at the EIT Health Flagship Event in late November/early December. They will compete against one another for a share of the cash prize totalling 30,000 euros, as well as a range of non-cash prizes. TimeTeller has been nominated for its pioneering work in the field of circadian diagnostics. Using biomarkers in saliva and artificial intelligence, it determines the optimal biological timing for treatment, for example in cancer therapy.
