How to apply

HOLII is a project run by Leuphana University of Lüneburg and Startup Port. Startups from the Hamburg metropolitan region are eligible to take part, with preference given to those affiliated with a university or research institution based there. The business model should be aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and teams should consist of no more than three members. Individual founders can also apply. The application process is as follows:

  • Record a video no longer than two minutes.

  • Complete the application form and upload the video.

  • Take part in a survey, which you will receive by email once your application is complete.

The support programme begins on 16 September 2026 with a kick-off event and ends on 1 February 2027. It includes the following services:

  • Weekly online and in-person sessions with experts in Lüneburg and Hamburg

  • Practical tasks, proactive goal-setting, monitoring and systematic feedback across four phases, from the initial idea to the prototype

  • Contacts with experienced founders and mentors

  • Free co-working space at Utopia in Lüneburg

Participation is free of charge. There are no prize funds and no final pitch. The programme is conducted in English.
