The German Startup Monitor (DSM) was first published in 2013. Since then, it has established itself as the most important source of information on the startup ecosystem and its strengths and weaknesses. To ensure this remains the case, the German Startups Association is once again calling on founders to participate in the survey.

The more participants there are, the more weight the DSM carries

Last year, the total number of participants was 1,846, including 201 from Hamburg. These figures already allow for well-founded conclusions, but even higher participation would give the DSM additional weight. The Startup Association cites the following reasons for participating:

  • Help shape the future with your input: Your answers won’t end up in a drawer—they’ll land on the desks of policymakers.

  • The DSM is the voice of the startup scene: Through your participation, you can highlight where the problems lie and where the urgent issues are.

  • Greater public visibility for what you accomplish every day: Driving us all forward through innovation and entrepreneurship.

All startups that are less than ten years old can take part. They should also be as innovative as possible in terms of their products or services and business models or technologies. Another startup criterion is high growth potential. The survey takes about 10 minutes on average. All data is analysed and processed anonymously.
