Using artificial intelligence, the Hamburg-based startup Qodia aims to simplify and optimise private medical billing. To further expand its services, it has now raised 1.2 million euros in a funding round.

Qodia secures 1.2 million euros in funding round

Qodia received support from Hamburg early on
According to Qodia, the investor is one of the leading financial service providers in the healthcare sector, which wishes to remain anonymous. By 2025, the startup had already raised a total of 400,000 euros. Funding from the InnoFounder programme of the IFB Innovationsstarter played an important role. Another milestone was the company’s participation in the AI.STARTUP.HUB in the winter of 2024/25. The company was founded during this period by Nicolas Riegger and Ole Reinpold, who are responsible for the business side, and Stephan Lenert and Lasse Reinpold, who handle software and AI development. At this point, the team consists of 14 people in total.
Qodia officially launched at the end of 2025. Two AI products are currently available: one is used for invoice verification, and the other answers questions about the German Medical Fee Schedule (GOÄ). These products are now being used by eleven major clients, eight of whom joined in May and June 2026 alone. A third product is still in the pilot phase with test clients and is scheduled to be completed and released by the end of 2026. It offers AI-powered analysis of medical treatment records and the automatic generation of invoices. This process has traditionally been time-consuming and highly error-prone, as it is based on a complex set of rules.
