myProtectify: Crowdfunding to support victims of domestic violence
Using an AI chatbot called Maya, myProtectify helps women affected by domestic violence. To ensure the service can be maintained and further expanded, the startup has launched a crowdfunding campaign aiming to raise up to 100,000 euros.
The founder is herself a survivor of domestic violence
According to the campaign’s accompanying information, every two minutes someone in Germany experiences domestic violence, yet often remains unseen or is not taken seriously. The founder, Sogol Kordi, has also had this experience. To ensure that those affected are no longer left alone, she founded myProtectify and, together with her team, launched the anonymous AI chatbot Maya in the summer of 2025. Available round the clock, it helps users understand their own situation and highlights ways to escape and make a fresh start.
As the service is to remain free of charge for those affected, myProtectify relies on other sources of income, such as workshops or funding programmes. A crowdfunding campaign has been running since 8 April 2026, aimed at providing an additional financial cushion. Supporters can either donate an amount of their choice directly or purchase merchandise. Companies can also book comprehensive event packages. The campaign runs until 29 May and has set a funding target of 100,000 euros. However, this is not binding; in other words, should this target not be reached, the amount collected up to that point will still go entirely to myProtectify.
