Minit Games emerges from stealth mode and receives 2 million US dollars
Until recently, Hamburg-based startup Minit Games operated exclusively behind closed doors, but now it is going public with some good news: in a pre-seed financing round, it has raised 2 million US dollars to build an infrastructure for quickly finding small mobile games.
Minit Games wants to make mini-games more accessible
Behind Minit Games are serial founders Mark Buchholz and Ole Schaper, who sold their mobile games studio Sviper three years ago. At the heart of their new startup is an AI-powered search engine. By analysing real-time usage data and interaction patterns, Minit Games' recommendation algorithm ensures that short-form games are precisely tailored to the right target audience and fed into a feed. This is intended to maximise reach for game developers and relevance for players.
The financing round is led by LVP, a London-based venture capital firm specialising in gaming, and the Sony Innovation Fund. Industry-savvy business angels such as Stefan Klemm, Timo Soininen and Klass Kersting are also involved. The newly raised 2 million US dollars will be used to expand the team in Hamburg and accelerate the technical launch of the platform. Minit Games is currently preparing to launch the alpha version, which will initially be accessible by invitation only.
