Hamburg Chamber of Commerce on Tour comes to Harburg
With its “Hamburg Chamber of Commerce on Tour” event series, the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce is coming to the city’s districts. On 15 April 2026, from 3.00 pm, it will stop off at the Speicher am Kaufhauskanal in Harburg. This puts the spotlight on southern Hamburg as a growing hub for business, innovation and science.
A comprehensive programme with a strong focus on startups
Entrepreneurs, startups, industry, academia, students and those interested in Harburg will come together to discuss prospects for the local economy and gain new insights. A panel discussion moderated by Jan Henri Kalinowski (Cheftreff) and Kathrin Haug (Vice-President of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce) will bring together students and those interested in starting a business with innovative startups from Harburg. Another talk is entitled “Industry meets innovation – a deep dive into Harburg’s transformation process”. Speakers include Maximilian Webers (COLIPI), Dirk Stuhrmann (Continental) and Ralf Grote (TUHH), with Julia Offen (Hamburg Chamber of Commerce) acting as moderator. The programme is complemented by free consultations on funding, financing, succession planning, crisis management, training, and energy and environmental issues.
In the evening, Harriet von Waldenfels (NDR) will host the programme highlight “Harburg – What’s next? A location in transition”. The discussion will be opened by President Prof. Norbert Aust and Chief Executive Dr Malte Heyne on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce, as well as Prof. Dr Rüdiger Grube. The focus will then shift to current developments and specific projects: Franziska Wedemann (Chair of the Hamburg South Business Association), District Administrator Christian Carstensen and actor Sebastian Ströbel will talk about urban planning, economic dynamism and the future of Hamburgs South. TU President Prof. Dr Andreas Timm-Giel, Wienke Reynolds (co-founder of Lignopure) and HOBUM Managing Director Arnold Mergell will bring home how much innovative potential Harburg already possesses today. To conclude, bestselling author Heinz Strunk will combine humour, keen observation and a Harburg connection.
