Apply now! Three current competitions and accelerators for startups
Hamburg offers a wealth of pitch competitions and support programmes for startups, but it is definitely worth looking beyond the city limits as well. With the Female FoundersAward, the Google DeepMind Accelerator and the socia Accelerator, we present three opportunities that are currently in the hot application phase.
Female Founders Award from AmCham Germany
Female founders have until 15 March to apply for the seventh edition of the Female Founders Award (FFA) from the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany (AmCham Germany). The award is open to startups that have been successfully positioned on the market for at least two years and are no more than ten years old. The industry focus is on the tech sector, where women are often still underrepresented. The prize is a three-year membership of AmCham Germany and access to an international network. After a pre-selection process by a jury of experts, the final will take place on 10 June in Munich.
Google DeepMind Accelerator
The Google DeepMind Accelerator appeals to startups that combine robotics with artificial intelligence and is a hybrid format. The kick-off and closing events take place in London, while the actual training and mentoring programme is completed online by the ten to fifteen participating startups. Early-stage companies with at least five team members can apply until 25 March. Especially attractive to startups is access to Google's software offerings and services, especially in the field of AI.
socia Accelerator
If your startup is focused on the common good, the socia accelerator is the right place for you. This is also a hybrid event that runs for four months and has space for 50 teams. The organiser is called Silicon Vilstal, Germany's first EU-accredited social economy cluster, based in Geisenhausen, Bavaria, where the face-to-face events take place. The focus is on the promise of being able to test ideas and concepts in practice. The application phase runs until 15 April, with the programme starting on 1 May.
