Agenda of Hamburg Innovation Summit 2022 announced

Networking event to go ahead on June 2 and 3

This year's Hamburg Innovation Summit (HHIS) is going hybrid  with a face-to-face event in the Altona Fish Auction Hall on June 2 and a virtual online academy on June 3 under the theme of "New Materials for the City of Tomorrow". Emphasis will be on new materials, science and energy with an agenda of panel discussions, keynotes, networking events and online courses.

Panels on diverse issues 

On June 2, emphasis in four panel discussions will be on “Innovation Meets City?",  "A Glimpse of Science", "Best Practice & Founder Stories" and "How Do We Want to Live?". Guests include Michael Westhagemann, Senator for Economics, Katharina Fegebank, Senator for Science, Research and Equality, and Norbert Aust, President of the Chamber of Commerce as well as movers and shakers in science and business. Janine Steeger, a presenter specializing in sustainability and environmental protection, will give the closing keynote.

Networking, awards and online academy

Delegates will also have an opportunity to network with stakeholders in the political sphere, business and science at the "Innovator Breakfast" aboard a barge on June 2 followed by a lunch break and a get-together in the evening. The HHIS 2022 also features an exhibition and the Hamburg Innovation Awards, which will be presented in the categories Idea, Start-up and Growth complemented by online events and livestreams. The HHIS Online Academy on June 3 will be dedicated to various forward-looking issues with deep dive sessions.

Bridge building function 

The annual HHIS functions as a bridge builder between research, business, politics and society. Tickets for this year's event and the Innovator Breakfast are now available online. More than 1,300 stakeholders in science and business attended the online summit in 2021. The event is organized by Hamburg's Ministry of Economics and Innovation (BWI), the Hamburgische Investitions- und Förderbank (IFB Hamburg) and Hamburg Innovation GmbH.
