3 Hamburg startups that help with ESG reporting
The acronym ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance and has been occupying more and more companies since EU directives introduced increased reporting obligations on these sustainability issues. A number of startups have set themselves the task of simplifying the associated bureaucratic work. We present three of them: leadity, today.green, and WeShyft.
leadity
Active since 2019, the startup leadity has positioned itself as a leading service provider for small and medium-sized businesses with its ESG and CO2 software. According to its own figures, it has already acquired more than 600 customers from over 20 industries, including breweries such as Bitburger and Krombacher and football clubs such as 1. FC Köln and Borussia Mönchengladbach. leadity has developed an AI-supported, modular platform for the collection and analysis of climate accounting data. This data can be used not only for ESG reporting, but also for measures to increase sustainability in companies.
today.green
Since early 2022, today.green has been pursuing a similar approach, although this startup has a broader thematic focus. A platform solution brings together the most important ESG metrics from all three areas and provides a comprehensive overview of impacts and potential countermeasures. The offering can be used in two ways: either as software within the company itself, or as a service provided by the today.green team. The startup thus appeals to customers who do not have their own ESG department.
WeShyft
WeShyft, founded in 2021, also offers an AI-supported platform solution with a focus on climate accounting and supply chain management. Another important component is essentiality analysis, which determines which ESG issues a company is actually required to report on. In its external communications, the startup argues that its solution reduces the amount of work involved and, above all, offers financial advantages through savings and changes in work and production processes.
