How is artificial intelligence currently transforming recruitment processes? What does this mean in practical terms for job applicants – and for companies?
In this edition of Careers Open Julia Bonke, founder of LearnForTomorrow, takes a look at the ‘recruitment landscape’ and how AI has already reshaped it: where is AI already embedded in recruitment today, and how can you spot it? From job advertisements and candidate selection to HR interview tools. The focus is on the key pitfalls: fairness and bias, why AI decisions are often difficult to understand, and what counter-dynamics arise when applicants optimise their applications for automated screening. You will then discuss in the plenary session what constitutes meaningful and conscious use of AI in the application process and how we collectively envisage the future of applying for jobs and selection. This will include practical recommendations on how to use AI as a sparring partner.
