Job offer
Working Student for ClimaTech Startup (m/f/d)

Available from December 1, 2024

“Nature does it – we advance it”

We are the Planeteers, a climate-tech startup from Hamburg. We capture CO2 in water and unleash the potential of the oceans as the largest carbon sink on our planet. Accelerated Weathering of Limestone (AWL) is a reaction in which CO2 is „neutralized“ using limestone. This reaction occurs in nature all the time, everywhere and on a large scale. Time scales of natural limestone weathering are thousands of years. With our technology, the process can be extremely accelerated, so that large amounts of CO2 can be rendered „harmless“ within minutes. Based on our reactor technology we pursue two distinct yet complementary approaches: point source and atmospheric removal. The extended use of our technology is to create Hydrated Carbonate Minerals that can be sprinkled in the ocean, where it subsequently causes a drawdown effect, that pulls CO2 from the atmosphere and stores it in the ocean.

We are currently looking for a working student to join our Hydrated Carbonate Minerals team in Hamburg. The role will ideally be performed part-time.

The Role

As a Planeteers working student this will be your tasks:

  • Support the product design and development of the reactor-based technology (e.g. flowchart, PIDs, Functional Descriptions)

  • Conduct research on cutting-edge technologies and innovation

  • Assistance with the assembly of (components and devices for) the reactor

  • Handling measuring and control instruments

  • Close collaboration with research and engineering team
