Job offer
Manufacturing Engineer - Hamburg Factory (m/f/d)

Available from April 20, 2026

Location: Hamburg (Factory)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Competitive

Equity: Benchmarked

Role Overview

Own manufacturing processes from feasibility through to serial production — new part introduction, process validation, quality assurance and continuous improvement for high-precision CNC components.

You sit at the intersection of engineering, production and the customer. In a founding team of two to three people that also means: commissioning machines, sourcing inspection equipment, building the quality management system from a blank page and acting as the technical bridge between the shop floor and the customer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimise CNC manufacturing processes for precision components

  • Lead new part introductions (NPI) — from feasibility study and process planning to series readiness

  • Create work plans, fixturing concepts and inspection plans

  • Run process FMEAs and root cause analysis when things go wrong

  • Work with CAM programmers to improve machining strategies, reduce cycle times and increase first-time-right rates

  • Build the quality management system (EN 9100) from scratch

  • Act as technical point of contact for customers on manufacturing questions and DFM feedback

  • Support MasonOS integration for manufacturing data capture and scheduling

  • Standardise processes and documentation for replication across the network

  • Help build the factory — infrastructure, inspection equipment, workshop layout

Required Skills

  • Degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering or equivalent

  • Experience in CNC machining environments or manufacturing planning

  • Strong understanding of machining processes, materials and tolerances

  • Experience with CAD/CAM systems and complex engineering drawings

  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T

  • Analytical, structured and self-directed

  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment with no established structure

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace or defence manufacturing background

  • AI literacy

  • EN 9100 / AS9100 knowledge or implementation experience

  • FMEA, SPC or Six Sigma experience

  • MES or digital manufacturing systems experience

  • Interest in robotics, factory automation and data-driven manufacturing

What We Offer

  • Key role in the founding team of a defence manufacturing scale-up

  • Direct influence on processes that will scale across the entire network

  • Work on mission-critical aerospace and defence components

  • Access to advanced machine tools and evolving automation

  • Equity participation with significant growth potential

  • High-performance culture focused on continuous improvement
